Role
We are looking for a Regional Director to join our team. This is a hybrid role based in Melbourne, reporting to the Regional Vice President, Public Sector in the APJ Field Sales department. As a strategic sales leader, you will build, direct, and develop an exceptional team of Government field sales Account Executives to win new business, ensure high renewal rates, and deliver outstanding customer and partner satisfaction. In this role, you will execute area business plans, foster long-term executive relationships, and champion public sector initiatives to accelerate Zscaler’s mission across the region.
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
- Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing team of senior Account Executives to achieve sales targets and cultivate an exceptional team culture
- Ensure outstanding customer and partner satisfaction to drive high retention, renewal rates, and long-term customer loyalty
- Develop and execute comprehensive territory and account plans to drive pipeline growth and market expansion across Public Sector accounts
- Act as a player-coach to shape complex deal strategies, prioritize high-value customer engagements, and establish key executive connections
- Maintain strong sales management discipline across forecasting, pipeline health, and sales process methodologies
Who You Are (Success Profile)
- You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful.
- You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. True ownership involves leveraging dynamic range: the ability to navigate seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
- You are a problem-solver. You love running towards the challenges because you are laser-focused on finding the solution, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact.
- You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
- You are a learner. You have a true growth mindset and are obsessed with your own development, actively seeking feedback to become a better partner and a stronger teammate. You love what you do and you do it with purpose.
What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain
- 8+ years of sales leadership experience successfully leading enterprise sales teams within the Public Sector
- Deep domain knowledge and proven expertise navigating government procurement, compliance, and public sector customer environments
- Proven track record in strategic account and territory planning, pipeline generation, and consistently achieving sales targets
- Demonstrated capability as a player-coach to lead, coach, and orchestrate cross-functional teams—including Account Executives, Solution Engineers, Customer Success, and executive leadership—to win and retain business
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience leveraging AI-driven sales enablement, pipeline analytics, and forecasting intelligence tools to accelerate deal cycles and optimize team productivity
- Demonstrable track record of success in strategic deal planning and executing complex, high-value transactions within the Public Sector
- Established network of trusted executive relationships across government agencies and public sector partner ecosystems
