Spark.Fi - Marketing Lead at YieldNest in London, Greater London, GB

About Spark Finance

Spark Finance operates at the intersection of decentralized finance (DeFi) and onchain capital markets, building products designed to make capital more productive across the crypto ecosystem.

The team is looking for a hands-on Marketing Lead who can translate Spark's products and strategic objectives into compelling narratives, build awareness across the crypto ecosystem, and drive measurable growth among key audiences.

The Role

As Marketing Lead, you will own the execution of Spark's marketing initiatives, from content and PR to social distribution, KOL relationships, partnerships, and events.

This is a hands-on marketing role, not primarily a project management position. You will be expected to understand Spark's products, identify the right audiences and distribution channels, create compelling content, and turn ideas into executed campaigns.

You'll work across Web3-native communities and more traditional financial audiences, with a particular focus on reaching high-value crypto participants, including whales, investors, ecosystem partners, and influential industry voices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content & Narrative

• Develop and execute content strategies that communicate Spark's products, value proposition, and broader ecosystem vision.
• Write and oversee high-quality blog posts, articles, announcements, press releases, and other marketing materials.
• Translate complex DeFi and financial concepts into compelling narratives for both crypto-native and broader audiences.
• Identify relevant industry narratives, trends, and opportunities that Spark can credibly contribute to.
• Maintain consistency in messaging across channels and campaigns.

2. Distribution & Audience Growth

• Own the distribution strategy for Spark's content and marketing initiatives.
• Develop targeted campaigns across Crypto Twitter/X, Telegram, Discord, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
• Identify and engage high-value audiences, including crypto whales, investors, ecosystem participants, and potential partners.
• Experiment with new channels, formats, and distribution strategies to increase reach, engagement, and conversion.
• Analyze campaign performance and audience data to continuously optimize results.

3. PR, KOLs & Influencer Marketing

• Build and manage relationships with crypto-native media outlets, journalists, KOLs, influencers, and relevant industry personalities.
• Identify opportunities for press coverage, interviews, thought leadership, and strategic communications.
• Develop and execute KOL campaigns aligned with Spark's priorities.
• Manage external agencies and partners where relevant, ensuring quality execution and measurable outcomes.

4. Partnerships & Ecosystem Marketing

• Identify opportunities for co-marketing with ecosystem partners, protocols, applications, and other relevant organizations.
• Develop joint campaigns, content initiatives, announcements, and community activations.
• Build relationships that strengthen Spark's visibility and positioning across the broader DeFi ecosystem.
• Support go-to-market initiatives for new products, integrations, and strategic launches.

5. Events & Community Engagement

• Identify relevant industry events, conferences, and community gatherings where Spark should have a presence.
• Coordinate marketing activations, speaking opportunities, side events, and partner engagements.
• Develop initiatives that strengthen relationships with key ecosystem participants and increase brand visibility.
• Ensure event participation translates into meaningful relationships and follow-up opportunities.

6. Marketing Execution & Performance

• Take ownership of marketing initiatives from ideation through execution and measurement.
• Work effectively with existing social media support and other internal or external contributors.
• Prioritize initiatives based on expected impact, audience relevance, and available resources.
• Track performance across content, distribution, PR, partnerships, and campaigns.
• Iterate quickly based on data, feedback, and changing market dynamics.

What Success Looks Like

Success means building a repeatable marketing engine that strengthens Spark's positioning and reaches the right audiences. Key outcomes include:

• Stronger brand awareness and clearer product positioning across the crypto ecosystem.
• Consistent production and effective distribution of high-quality content.
• Meaningful relationships with relevant KOLs, media outlets, and ecosystem partners.
• Successful execution of campaigns, launches, and ecosystem marketing initiatives.
• Improved reach and engagement among high-value target audiences.
• Measurable improvements in channel performance and marketing efficiency.

The Ideal Candidate

A crypto-native, hands-on marketer who combines strong writing with commercial instinct and executional ability. They understand how attention and influence move through the Web3 ecosystem, know how to reach the right people, and can independently turn a marketing idea into a live campaign. They are comfortable working across content, PR, KOLs, partnerships, and events without losing sight of the underlying objective: growing Spark's reach, reputation, and adoption.

They should be equally comfortable drafting an article, pitching a media opportunity, coordinating a KOL campaign, developing a partnership activation, or reviewing campaign data to determine what to do next.

What We're Looking For

• 5–8+ years of marketing experience, ideally with substantial exposure to crypto, Web3, DeFi, or financial technology.
• Strong understanding of the crypto ecosystem, its audiences, communities, distribution channels, and media landscape.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex products clearly and persuasively.
• A proven ability to execute marketing initiatives independently rather than relying exclusively on agencies or project management.
• Experience working with KOLs, influencers, PR agencies, media outlets, and external marketing partners.
• Experience developing and executing content, social distribution, partnerships, and event-based marketing initiatives.
• A data-driven approach to campaign measurement, audience growth, and channel optimization.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several initiatives simultaneously.
• The ability to understand a product deeply and translate its technical and commercial value into effective marketing.

Particularly Valuable Experience

• Experience marketing DeFi protocols, stablecoins, lending markets, yield products, or other onchain financial infrastructure.
• Existing relationships with crypto media, KOLs, influencers, and ecosystem partners.
• Experience targeting high-value crypto users and investors rather than focusing exclusively on broad social media engagement.
• Experience working in lean teams where speed, autonomy, and direct execution are essential.
• Familiarity with both crypto-native audiences and traditional finance or institutional audiences.

APAC & Greater China — A Significant Plus

Knowledge of the Asia-Pacific crypto market would be particularly valuable, especially experience with:

• Hong Kong and Singapore's crypto and financial ecosystems.
• Chinese and Greater China media, communities, and distribution channels.
• Regional KOL networks and industry relationships.
• Cultural nuances, communication styles, and business etiquette when engaging APAC audiences.
