Job Summary
Responsible for carrying out hands-on inspection of CNC machined parts and machines, ensuring products meet defined quality standards. Supports documentation and compliance activities in alignment with ISO 9001 and company QMS requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection Standards & Compliance
- Carry out hands-on dimensional and visual inspection of CNC machined parts and machine accuracy checks using appropriate measuring equipment
- Document inspection results accurately and raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) where applicable
- Follow and update inspection SOPs based on floor-level findings
- Support audit activities through proper maintenance of inspection records
Measurement & Equipment
- Operate measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, and surface roughness testers
- Perform equipment calibration checks and coordinate with the calibration schedule
- Identify and escalate equipment anomalies to senior QC personnel
Non-Conformance & Corrective Action
- Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming parts in accordance with NCR procedures
- Assist in root cause investigation and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Monitor and track NCR closure status
Production Floor Support
- Provide in-process inspection support at key production stages
- Liaise with machining operators and production team to resolve quality issues at point of occurrence
- Escalate recurring defects or systemic issues to QC Engineer
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Guide operators on basic inspection techniques and quality awareness
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and internal audits
- Support implementation of standardized inspection methods across operations
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 1–3 years experience in QC inspection within CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings and GD&T
- Hands-on experience with conventional measuring instruments; CMM experience an advantage
- Familiar with ISO 9001 quality management system
- Meticulous, proactive, and able to work independently on the production floor
