Employment Type: Casual (38hrs a week, with potential for full-time permanent positions)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Groundsperson to carry out tree maintenance duties in parks and reserves. This role involves performing arboricultural operations such as tree removal, pruning, and maintaining the health of trees and shrubs to ensure safe and attractive public spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Remove trees and shrubs, and conduct pruning and other arboricultural tasks safely and efficiently
• Perform tree pruning under supervision
• Cut, stack, or remove branches and brushwood
• Operate, maintain, and adjust arboricultural tools and equipment, including chainsaws and wood chippers
• Assist with pest and disease control, nutritional disorders, and environmental stress management for plants
• Maintain safe work practices in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Safely and competently drive vehicles up to 22.4 tonnes GCM
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and safety requirements

Requirements:

• Trade qualification in Arboriculture, Horticulture, or a related field
• MR truck licence or higher
• Chainsaw ticket
• Pole saw Certification
• Experience operating plant and equipment used in tree maintenance (e.g., wood chippers, chainsaws)
• Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety practices
• Demonstrated experience providing tree maintenance in streets, parks, and reserves
• Traffic Management Certificate (desirable)
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills

Pre Employment Checks:

• Working With Children Check to be obtained prior to commencement
• Police Check to be obtained prior to commencement
