Accounting Clerk - No Experience? We'll… at Virtual… · Marksville

VPA has two office locations in Central Louisiana: Alexandria and Marksville. This role is in office at either location. Remote work may be available in certain circumstances.

First, here's what we do

Virtual Partner Advantage is an outsourced accounting and financial-advisory firm for growing businesses. For nearly 30 years, from our offices in Alexandria and Marksville, we’ve been the numbers-and-strategy partner behind hundreds of companies. We don’t just “do the books.” We help our partners understand their financials, improve their profit, and build more valuable, scalable businesses. We turn messy numbers into clarity, and clarity into smarter decisions.

Day to day, here's the work you'll grow into, not a checklist you need on day one. This is hands-on bookkeeping, posting bills, recording customer payments, entering credit card and expense transactions, handling prepaids and accruals, running collections, processing payroll, and sending out invoices. It’s detailed work and doing it accurately and on time is exactly what our partners count on us for. As you master it and show us what you’re made of, your role can grow into monthly reporting, client relationships, and beyond. We’re not looking for someone who already knows how to do every one of these tasks. We’re looking for someone sharp, dependable, and driven that we can train and grow. If numbers, problem-solving, and helping people succeed sound like your kind of work, you’ll like it here.

Read that, picture yourself in it, and if it lights you up, keep going.

Most job ads hand you a shopping list: “Must have 5 years of this, a certificate in that, expert-level whatever.”

We ripped ours up.

We are not looking for the person who checks every box. Boxes can be taught. We are looking for the person who starts without all the skills and learns them fast, the one who walks in a little green (new, inexperienced, still learning the ropes) but, because they refuse to stay average, is soon outperforming the very people who trained them.

We can teach skills. We cannot teach drive. We cannot install integrity. We cannot download the kind of person who sees a problem and thinks “good, that’s mine to solve now.”

So we’re hiring for the part we can’t teach. If you bring that, we’ll teach you the rest.

This is a career, not a shift. We’re looking for professionals who want to build something and grow with us. People who measure themselves by results, not hours. If you’re looking to punch a clock and coast, you’ll be happier somewhere else, and we mean that sincerely.

What you'd be walking into

We’re a team of people who take real ownership of their work and care about doing it well, for our partners and for each other. If that’s the kind of place you’ve been hoping to find, you’ll fit right in.

Here, we live by a couple of simple, non-negotiable ideas:

Unbelievable Service. We don’t aim to “meet expectations.” We aim to WOW the client and then step up our game again next week. Good is the starting line, not the finish.

The Right Person in the Right Seat. We believe people do their best work when they’re playing from their strengths, not white-knuckling through their weaknesses. We’ll work to understand what you’re genuinely great at and build your role around it because that’s how you get performance, productivity, and a career that doesn’t feel like a grind.

You’ll be trusted. You’ll be challenged. You’ll be handed things slightly bigger than what you’ve done before but on purpose, because that’s how good people become great ones.

What we're not looking for

Let's save us both some time.

• People who need to be managed minute-to-minute instead of taking ownership.
• People who go quiet when things get hard instead of stepping up.
• People chasing 'just a job' rather than a place to grow, contribute, and be challenged.
• People who wait to be told what to do instead of seeing what needs to be done and doing it.

Nothing wrong with any of that. It's just oil to our water.

Still reading? Good. That means something to us.

If you’ve made it this far and something in you is thinking “yes, this is me,” then we should talk.

This isn't a typical job ad, so along with your résumé, in a few sentences, tell us what about it made you want to apply? A few honest sentences tell us more than any résumé ever could, and we read every one. Applications without it won’t be considered.
