Account Executive - Georgia at VC3 in Georgia

At VC3, we don’t just solve IT problems — we own them. We serve hundreds of municipalities and organizations across the United States and Canada, bringing IT to the people who need it most. We believe in earning trust, having a growth mindset, and delivering excellence every single time.

VC3 is one of the largest managed IT and cybersecurity service providers for local government in North America, serving more than 1,100 municipalities across the United States and Canada. With over 30 years of experience, we bring enterprise-level technology managed services, cybersecurity, compliance, AI enablement, application development, and web hosting to the communities that need it most. Our average client tenure exceeds 11 years because we show up as a partner, not a vendor, and we take the trust placed in us by the citizens of those communities seriously every single day

We're a team of doers, builders, and tech whisperers who live by 4 core values: Go Beyond | Own It | Be Curious| Serve as One

We pride ourselves on making IT personal, making IT easy, and getting IT right. And it all starts with our talented team that is committed to raising the bar.

The Impact you will have:

We are seeking a high performing Account Executive living in Georgia to drive growth by connecting client challenges to tailored solutions and expanding the utilization of VC3’s products and services. This is a pure net-new hunting role. You will build your pipeline from zero through cold outreach, in-person prospecting, league and association events, and community relationship building. Your success depends entirely on your ability to consistently generate your own first meetings and convert them into long-term partnerships, often over a 3-to-12-month sales cycle aligned with municipal budget seasons.

This is not a transactional sales role. It is a relationship-first, territory-building position where success is built over months and years, not weeks. If you are motivated by high-volume, fast-close selling, this is not the right fit. If you thrive on building genuine trust with community leaders, navigating complex buying processes, and knowing that the work you do protects the citizens of small towns, keep reading.

What you will be doing:

• Own the full sales cycle from cold outreach to close with no SDR or BDR support, every first meeting you hold, you booked yourself or from a marketing sourced lead.
• Make consistent outbound calls, send personalized emails, and conduct in-person drop visits to city halls, municipal offices, and government facilities in your territory
• Attend municipal league conferences, table day events, and trade shows to build name recognition and generate hand-raiser leads
• Build trust-based relationships with city managers, town clerks, mayors, county administrators, and IT decision-makers over months before a formal sales conversation begins
• Navigate municipal budget cycles, council and commission approval processes, and cooperative contract vehicles to move deals from discovery to close
• Conduct executive overview presentations, business-level discovery conversations, and solution recommendations tailored to the specific pain points of each municipality
• Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene so your pipeline reflects reality
• Hold yourself accountable to weekly first time appointment targets and qualified opportunity metrics as the primary indicators of territory health

The tools you bring:

• Must currently reside in Georgia. Deep familiarity with the communities, culture, and regional dynamics of the Southeast is essential to success in this role
• 3+ years of experience selling B2B products or services in a quota-bearing hunting role
• 3+ years of experience with consultative solution-based sales in IT, client need assessments and sales strategy, including business case development, presentations, proposals, closing the sale, and client follow up
• Demonstrated experience selling to or working with local government organizations: city managers, county administrators, municipal clerks, council members, or comparable roles is strongly preferred and will be weighted heavily in the evaluation process
• Demonstrated ability to manage and sustain a long sales cycle of 3 to 12 months, including building relationships months in advance of a budget decision, is required
• Sandler sales training or equivalent consultative discovery methodology is a strong asset, our sales process is built around business-level discovery, BANT qualification, and executive overview presentations rather than feature-based pitching
• Proven outbound prospecting discipline including consistent cold calling, structured email cadencing, and in-person drop visit activity is required. This role demands self-generated pipeline. Candidates who rely primarily on inbound leads or marketing-generated opportunities will not find the right fit here
• This role requires approximately 30 to 40% travel, including attendance at municipal league conferences, trade shows, and community events, some of which occur on weekends. Candidates must be comfortable with overnight travel and multi-day field schedules on a regular basis
• Prior experience selling IT managed services, cybersecurity, or technology solutions in a net-new hunting capacity is preferred. Account management, channel sales, or inside sales experience without a significant outbound hunting component will not translate directly to this role.

Go Beyond – you take that extra step to create moments that are unexpected but appreciated.

Own It - You have the courage to do what's right, the resolve to take responsibility, and the grit to cross the finish line.

Serve as One - You believe that together, we are greater than the sum of our individuals, and that teamwork is essential to success.

What's in it for you:

Compensation Structure: A strong market leading base salary with a commission structure that is uncapped. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education and work location. Pay Transparency: Base salary of $70,000–$90,000 + depending on experience, plus uncapped commission.

Well-being & Support - Caring for our team goes beyond the workday. From day one, you will have access to structured onboarding, a dedicated sales enablement team, and ongoing weekly everboarding sessions that keep you sharp, current, and continuously improving throughout your tenure.

People-First Culture – We live our values, support each other, and create a space where everyone belongs. We have a common goal of doing work that matters, with autonomy, recognition, and a mission to serve those who serve.

You will join a team that wins and loses together, not as individuals. Weekly team collaboration, shared deal strategy, peer coaching, and a culture of people, accountability and winning (PAW)

Transparent Leadership – From open communication to clear company goals, our leaders are involved, and our managers are here to support your growth every step of the way.

Applicant selected will be subject to a criminal and department of motor vehicles background checks and must meet Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) requirements post-employment
