Accounting Intern (On-Going) at Valero in San Antonio, TX

The Accounting On-Going Internship provides hands-on experience in various accounting functions and prepares students for future full-time employment in the industry. Responsibilities: - Prepares monthly financial reports and account reconciliations - Processes payables and prepares month end accruals - Communicates with external vendors - Creates and maintains various accounting analysis - Assists with audit project planning and testing - Prepares tax returns and researches tax compliance (federal, state, sales & use, etc.) - Responds to audit requests - Assists with special projects, as needed Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting - Graduation dates of August 2027 through May 2029 - Able and willing to work 20-25 hours per week during the Fall/Spring semesters, including university breaks as needed - Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer - Candidate required to live within commuting distance to San Antonio, TX during the internship and work on-site, in person at the Valero Headquarters - Able and willing to work on-site and in-person Preferred Qualifications: - Overall GPA of 3.0 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale Required Skills: Accounting, Financial Reporting, Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable Processing, Month End Accruals, Audit Planning and Testing, Tax Returns Preparation, Tax Compliance Research Benefits: This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
