Qualified Carpenter - Trainer &… at Up Education · Sydney CBD

Company Description

Use your trade expertise to shape confident, capable carpenters. Build careers, not just structures

Your experience in carpentry can make a lasting difference. At City-Wide Building and Training Services (CWBTS), you will use your practical knowledge to train, assess and mentor apprentices as they build the skills and confidence to succeed in the construction industry.

This is an opportunity to take your trade career in a new direction while remaining connected to worksites, employers and the realities of the industry. You will spend three days each week working across the Central Coast, Sydney and surrounding regions - combining onsite visits, apprentice coaching, assessment and relationship management.

Why this role could be your next move

• Work and life balance: A three-day working week as permanent part-time employee
• A new way to use your trade - share the skills and knowledge you have developed throughout your career.
• Work with purpose - help apprentices become skilled, capable and job-ready carpenters.
• Stay connected to industry - work directly with apprentices, employers and supervisors on site.
• Variety and autonomy - travel between worksites and training locations rather than being based behind a desk.
• Support on the road - receive a $17,000 FTE vehicle allowance, pro rata, including fuel and eTag costs.
• Room to grow - there may be an opportunity to move into full-time employment as enrolments increase.

What your week could look like

One day, you might observe an apprentice completing framing work and assess their skills on site. The next, you could coach a learner who needs extra support, speak with an employer about an apprentice's progress, or complete assessment records and plan upcoming visits. No two weeks will be exactly the same, but every week will give you the chance to see apprentices develop.
