Most allocations occur before the beginning of semester but are not necessarily final until Week 3 of semester. A demonstrator may see a reduction in allocated hours or be assigned to a different course - this does not reflect on the demonstrator involved as it is usually due to unresolved timetabling constraints or fluctuations in enrolments.

New applicants must be available for compulsory training sessions scheduled for the week prior to the start of semester.

Casual Academics are appointed on the basis of their academic qualifications and experience, they should possess the requisite knowledge for the course or the ability to acquire such through independent learning. All appointed demonstrators should familiarise themselves with the lecture and practical material for their course prior to the commencement of classes.

The University will provide demonstrators with the following resources:

• UQ staff username

• UQ staff email address
