Job Description

AmeriCorps Seniors - Senior Companion Program Coordinator

Location: Orono, ME, United States

The SCP Coordinator supports the AmeriCorps Seniors: Senior Companion Program by supervising volunteers in assigned counties who provide companionship to homebound and socially isolated older adults. Working under the SCP Director, this role handles volunteer recruitment, training, and placement; coordinates with nonprofit partner agencies; assist with program compliance with AmeriCorps Seniors grant requirements. Typical hiring range for this soft-money funded position is $47,101 to $50,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
Required:

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years’ experience in community-based services and programming.

Preferred:

Experience in community outreach.
Experience in managing grant reports and budgets.
Interest in the issues and needs of older adults and their families.
Demonstrated skill in personnel and program management.
Skill in working collaboratively with other agencies and organizations.
Strong program solving skills.
Self-motived and self-directed.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Word, developing and maintaining spreadsheets, and in creating flyers, and newsletters.
