Job Summary and Qualifications
The Division Quality Coordinator directly supports the professional practice evaluation process as applicable to the TriStar Division and affiliated facilities. The Coordinator will support the implementation of the medical staff performance improvement functions within the system according to the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and policies.
The Division Quality Coordinator will work collaboratively with staff from Clinical Outcomes, HIM, Coding, Medical Staff Services, Administration and various physician, nursing and ancillary care groups.
What you will do in this role:
- Design, plan, and coordinate a consistent, centralized medical staff peer review process throughout TriStar Division and affiliated facilities.
- Review medical records and other data sources to screen for selected quality indicators.
- Prepare the medical record and other information for review by the PPE Reviewer, PPE Committee, CMO, VPQ, and additional PPE Support Specialists as well.
- Work in conjunction with the TriStar Division facilities to coordinate the physician peer review process which entails the analysis of event reports, medical records, preparation of timelines and reports while maintaining confidential documentation completed in a timely manner.
- Work in conjunction with the TriStar Division facilities to prepare monthly Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) reports while maintaining confidential documentation completed in a timely manner.
- Assist the Division Director of PPE with the preparation of reports to Medical Staff and Board Committees as required.
- Remain knowledgeable of regulatory standards, Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and policies related to essential job functions.
- Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; support department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
- Clinical degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Substantial experience performing clinical chart reviews & data analysis within a healthcare setting preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years working in a clinical setting preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical staff peer review programs preferred.
- Knowledge of Patient Safety science principles, theory, methods, standards, and regulatory requirements and experience with patient safety analysis techniques (methods), including root cause analysis, cause and effect analysis, and failure mode and effect analysis required.
- Ability to use database software to enter, retrieve, sort, and filter information as necessary for reporting or report generation preferred.
