Job Description
Summary: The Pivot Group is a company committed to fostering meaningful relationships in the manufacturing community. They are seeking Help Desk Technicians to provide technical support for IT hardware, software, and network issues in manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support for IT hardware, software, and network issues across office and manufacturing environments
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems impacting production systems, shop floor PCs, barcode scanners, and label printers
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, and specialized manufacturing equipment
- Log, track, and prioritize support requests and incidents using the IT service management system
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on IT equipment to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate internal teams or external vendors for advanced resolution
- Assist with user account management, password resets, and basic application support
Required Qualifications:
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network connectivity
- Experience supporting manufacturing-specific applications (e.g., ERP, MES) and industrial shop-floor hardware
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with an ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or SCADA software
- Familiarity with industrial hardware such as barcode scanners, label printers, and thin clients
- Understanding of operational technology (OT) environments and their unique IT support needs
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity in a production or plant setting
