Location: The King William, 2 The Bridge, Milford, Belper, DE56 0RR
Position Type: Permanent (Full-time and Part-time hours available)
Hours: Shifts include days, evenings, and weekends
Salary: National Minimum Wage + Tips

The King William is a traditional community pub in Milford, known for our warm hospitality, excellent real ales, and lively events. From our weekend breakfasts and Sunday lunches to our popular live music and Wednesday quiz nights, we are a bustling hub for regulars, families, and visitors alike. We are looking for reliable, friendly individuals to join our front-of-house team on a permanent basis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Drink & Food Service: Prepare and serve a wide range of drinks, ensuring high standards for our real ales. Take food orders for breakfasts, Sunday roasts, and themed food nights.
- Event Support: Working efficiently to handle high customer volumes during our busy live music and quiz nights.
- Customer Service: Welcome guests with a friendly, helpful attitude to maintain our welcoming village pub atmosphere.
- Till Operations: Accurately process cash, card, and contactless payments.
- Cleanliness: Keep the bar area, tables, and historic seating spaces clean and tidy. Collect glasses and wash up throughout your shift.
- Licensing Compliance: Follow UK licensing laws strictly, including age verification checks under our Challenge 25 policy.
Requirements and Skills
- Age: Must be 18 or older to handle and serve alcohol legally.
- Commitment: Looking for dependable individuals seeking a permanent, secure role.
- Personality: Outgoing, proactive, and passionate about great pub service.
- Teamwork: Strong communication skills to work smoothly alongside our kitchen and bar staff.
- Flexibility: Comfortable working a mix of quiet weekday shifts and fast-paced weekend or event nights.
- Experience: Previous hospitality or cask/real ale handling experience is a plus, but not essential as full training is provided.
