Paramedic
Location: San Antonio, TX, United States
This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus
Under a Licensed Physician’s supervision, provides emergency medical care, commensurate with the paramedic’s skill and
competencies, and fulfills role as defined by TX HB 2020, Texas Code 157.2, and Baptist Health System, in the hospital setting.
Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Paramedicine or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Graduate as Critical Care Paramedic or Flight Paramedic
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience with a High Volume EMS System (>7500 Responses per year) or
Emergency Department Equivalent.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License or Certification as
Paramedic (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician will not be accepted in lieu of State License or
Certification). Required within one year of hire: PEPP (Pediatric Emergencies for Pre-Hospital Professionals),
PHTLS (Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support), AMLS (Advanced Medical Life Support).
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):
BLS - Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must
have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.
AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
