About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and creative Principal Designer – Interior Design to lead high-end residential, commercial, hospitality, and luxury interior design projects in Abu Dhabi.

The ideal candidate will have strong design leadership skills, excellent knowledge of materials and finishes, and the ability to take projects from concept development through design documentation and execution. The role requires someone who can lead design teams, communicate confidently with clients, and maintain a high standard of design quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall design direction of interior design projects from concept to completion.
• Develop innovative and sophisticated interior design concepts, mood boards, material palettes, and presentations.
• Manage multiple projects while ensuring quality, timelines, and design standards are maintained.
• Lead and mentor junior and senior designers within the design team.
• Work closely with clients to understand their requirements, lifestyle, preferences, and budgets.
• Prepare and review design presentations, detailed drawings, specifications, and material selections.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Review shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups, and site execution to ensure design intent is maintained.
• Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the design team.
• Participate in client presentations and design meetings.
• Stay updated with international interior design trends, materials, products, and technologies.
• Ensure projects comply with relevant UAE standards, regulations, and project requirements.
• Support business development and contribute to design proposals and client pitches when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 8–15 years of professional experience in interior design, with significant experience leading projects and teams.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality residential, hospitality, commercial, or luxury interiors.
• Previous experience working in the UAE or GCC is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and interior detailing.
• Excellent understanding of design development and project execution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D visualization/rendering software, Adobe Creative Suite, and relevant design tools.
• Strong client-management and presentation skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of current international design trends and luxury interiors.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates with experience in luxury residential, hospitality, high-end commercial, or large-scale interior design projects will be strongly preferred.

Experience with UAE/GCC-based projects and knowledge of local suppliers, materials, contractors, and construction practices will be an advantage.
