About Swoop
We are a global community of over 100 adventure travel enthusiasts - ex-guides, avid travellers, and those with an adventurous spirit - spanning five continents. Since 2010, we’ve helped more than 15,000 people experience the trip of a lifetime in Antarctica, Patagonia and the Arctic. Our success is rooted in our intimate knowledge of these incredible regions, our deep care for their preservation, our commitment, as a B Corp, to doing what’s right for people and the planet and, above all, our connectedness as a global team.

About the role
We’re looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance Team in a junior, administrative support role. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their career in finance, with full training and support provided to help you develop your skills and confidence in the role.

You don’t need extensive finance experience, but we are looking for someone who can demonstrate a strong foundation in working with numbers. This could be through at least two years’ experience in a finance, accounts or relevant administrative role, or through a degree-level qualification with a strong numerical or finance-related element.

The role focuses primarily on Accounts Receivable tasks, including allocating payments, reconciling transactions and processing invoices. If you enjoy solving problems, working methodically and ensuring everything is in its right place, this could be a great opportunity.

We’re a small, supportive team, so we need someone who’s happy to get stuck in, take initiative and help out wherever needed. We don’t expect you to know everything from day one — we’ll provide full training and ongoing support to help you get up to speed. For candidates undertaking relevant professional finance or accounting qualifications, study support may also be available, with arrangements tailored to the individual and discussed during the interview and offer stage.

The ideal candidate will be proactive and organised, taking ownership of their daily and weekly tasks to ensure everything runs smoothly. You’ll report to our Head of Finance and work closely with our Management Accountant, helping to keep our customers’ financial records accurate throughout their booking journey.

Key responsibilities

• Allocating customer card payments
• Reconciling customer bank transfer payments
• Processing amendments to customer invoices
• Reconciling merchant settlements of card payment batches
• Processing supplier invoices
• Assisting the finance team with administrative tasks
• Supporting the customer service & sales teams with invoice or payment questions
• Completing ad-hoc finance tasks as they arise

About you

• At least two years’ experience in a finance, accounts or relevant administrative role, OR a degree-level qualification with a strong numerical, mathematical or finance-related element
• Competent in Google Sheets/Excel, including basic formulas, data entry and organisation — nothing advanced
• Highly numerical, with strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
• Inquisitive and analytical, with a natural enjoyment of problem-solving and making things ‘fit’
• Positive and proactive, taking ownership of daily and weekly tasks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Organised and methodical, with the ability to manage routine administrative tasks consistently and accurately
• Happy to jump in where needed, work flexibly and support the wider Finance Team with a variety of tasks
• Keen to learn and develop your finance and accounting skills — full training and ongoing support will be provided
• Able to work efficiently and accurately in a dynamic and collaborative environment

This is an administrative/development role and would be a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in finance and accounting within an exciting adventure travel company and a supportive, close-knit team.
