Summary: Stewart Title is a global real estate services company committed to transforming the industry with modern, AI-powered engineering. The Application Development Intern will work within the Enterprise App Development team in Plymouth, MI, contributing to production software that supports title operations nationwide and gaining mentorship from senior engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Own a scoped engineering project with defined deliverables and real business value—your work ships
- Write production-quality code in a large, real-world enterprise application used by customers across the country
- Work directly with dev leads and senior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming
- Use modern AI development tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot) as a natural part of your workflow
- Participate in planning sessions, stand-ups, and sprint ceremonies alongside the full team
- Prototype and iterate on features—expect to build, get feedback, and refine, not just execute a spec
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Completed coursework in both data structures and algorithms (combined or separate courses)
- Be able to fulfill the duties of the role in a full-time, in-person environment for the duration of your internship, located in Plymouth, MI
- Strong programming fundamentals—we care far more about how you think and solve problems than which language you know best
- Self-motivated and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy; you don't need someone looking over your shoulder to stay on track
- Genuine excitement about building something that matters—you want to see your work running in production, not sitting in a repo
- Curiosity about AI-assisted development and an interest in how LLMs are changing the way software gets built
- Be open and available to travel to Houston, TX throughout the program, as the program demands *(travel to be paid for by Stewart)*
- Be eligible to legally work in the country in which you are applying, without company sponsorship or time restriction
