Southern Health Partners (SHP) is seeking a dependable PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team at Shelby County Jail!

Our greatest need is for night shift coverage, making this a great opportunity for nurses who prefer working overnight hours.

PRN scheduling offers flexibility, but it also comes with a commitment to helping keep our healthcare team covered when patients need us most. With 12-hour shifts and an additional shift differential, you can make a meaningful difference while enjoying a different kind of nursing opportunity!

💚 What You'll Do

• Provide nursing care and treatment to patients in a correctional healthcare setting.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

• Monitor patient conditions and respond to medical needs.

• Perform assessments, document care and communicate changes in patient status.

• Collaborate with healthcare team members to support continuity of care.

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records.

• Participate in our online scheduling exchange to coordinate available PRN shifts.

• Provide reliable coverage for accepted and scheduled shifts.

• Maintain availability for at least four dates per month, with an emphasis on night shift coverage.

• Assist with holiday coverage, providing availability in advance whenever possible.

Qualifications

🩺 What We're Looking For

• Current Alabama LPN or RN license.

• Current CPR certification.

• Previous nursing experience preferred.

• Strong assessment, communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative healthcare team.

• Availability to provide at least four dates of availability each month, including night shift availability.

• Willingness to assist with holiday coverage as needed.

• Dependability and commitment to honoring accepted and scheduled shifts.

• Understanding that Full-Time and Part-Time schedules receive priority when coordinating staffing needs.

PRN scheduling requirements may vary based on facility staffing needs. Additional night shift availability may be requested to help maintain adequate coverage.
