Job Description
Summary: Siemens is a leading provider of infrastructure and transportation solutions in the United States. The Electrical Sub Assembler will support electrical and mechanical assembly activities in a dynamic production environment, building essential components for passenger rail vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as, but not limited to, roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, and panels, including air supply racks and piping assemblies
- Connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points
- Cut wire to specified lengths and route, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wire to terminal points
- Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble components as required
- Duties may consist of, but not limited to, working from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or Electro-Mechanical subassemblies
- Frequently required to use fine motor skills, assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity
Required Qualifications:
- High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
- Experience with electrical panel assembly, construction, automotive or electrical service industries
- Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English
- Knowledge of reading of blueprints, diagrams and various part list is helpful
- Candidates should be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment when required
- Job duties may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects or tools
- Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors
- Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required
- Specific vision abilities include: Close and distance vision, Color differentiation, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, Ability to adjust focus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electro-mechanical assembly preferred
