Position Purpose
Supports kitchen operations through food prep, service, and cleaning. Plays a key role in creating a positive dining experience for residents.
Qualifications
Must be able to read, write and carry out directions in English
Minimum of 15 years of age
Must be able to pass the state mandated criminal background screening and pre-employment drug screening for illegal substances
Essential Functions
Serve meals respectfully and according to service standards
Inform residents of meal options and offer alternatives
Assist with tray service and ensure timely return of dishes back to the kitchen
Monitor uneaten food and communicate concerns
Assist with food prep (wash, chop, portion, measure)
Support cooks as directed
Receive and store deliveries properly
Use equipment safely and report issues
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen areas
Clean dining room and service areas after meals
Sweep, mop, and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness
Follow all food safety and infection control protocols
Assist with dating and labeling food
Helps maintains a orderly and clean kitchen and dining area
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents in all aspects of food prep and service
Handle emotional and physical demands of job duties
