Summary: Schneider Electric is a global company specializing in automation, electrification, and digitization solutions. The Part-Time Laboratory Relocation & Inventory Control Intern will support the relocation of a Verification & Validation laboratory by managing inventory, tracking assets, coordinating equipment handling, and organizing the new facility. The role collaborates with engineering, operations, and facilities teams in an industrial automation and safety systems environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform physical inventory counts and asset verification before, during, and after the laboratory relocation
- Label, organize, pack, and stage laboratory equipment, materials, and spare components for transportation
- Maintain accurate inventory records using spreadsheets and asset tracking tools
- Track equipment movement and assist in maintaining asset traceability throughout the relocation process
- Support documentation of laboratory equipment locations, rack layouts, and cable connections
- Assist with organizing and unpacking equipment at the new facility
- Help establish inventory storage areas, equipment staging locations, and laboratory workspaces
- Perform data entry and reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical assets and inventory records
- Support equipment identification, cable management, and general laboratory organization activities
- Follow established safety procedures while handling equipment and materials
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to accurately follow procedures and maintain records
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Comfortable working in a laboratory, warehouse, or technical environment
- Ability to lift and move boxes and equipment up to 40 lbs
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a structured environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in engineering laboratories, industrial automation, inventory management, or logistics
- Experience with data entry, inventory tracking, or asset management
- Familiarity with computer hardware, networking equipment, or electronic test equipment is a plus
