Job Description
Summary: Schneider Electric is offering an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) internship at its Columbia, Missouri location. The part-time, onsite role supports workplace safety, environmental compliance, risk assessment, sustainability programs, EHS reporting, data analysis, and collaboration on continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
- Support daily EHS activities and safety initiatives within the manufacturing facility
- Assist with safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations
- Help identify risks and recommend corrective actions and process improvements
- Support EHS documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements
- Assist with employee safety communications, training, and awareness initiatives
- Support environmental and sustainability programs, including waste management
- Analyze EHS data and metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with Operations, HR, Engineering, Maintenance, and other teams on EHS projects
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Strong interest in workplace safety, environmental responsibility, and manufacturing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of an organization
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze information, identify problems, and recommend solutions
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and spending time on the plant floor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is preferred
