SAP Account Executive Expert (f/m/d) -… at SAP IT… · Walldorf

Job Description

What you'll bring

You bring several years of experience selling enterprise software — ideally in the retail or wholesale sector. You hold a degree in business, information systems, business engineering, or a comparable field.

You negotiate confidently at every level of a customer organisation. You establish trust quickly and maintain it, even in difficult situations. You build a strong network — within your accounts, across the retail industry, and throughout the SAP ecosystem. Leading virtual account teams is familiar ground for you.

You know the retail market. You read industry trends and translate them into customer-relevant conversations. Your effective communication and customer orientation shape how you listen, qualify, and engage — and your emotional intelligence helps you adapt your approach when situations get complex.

AI is integral to how you work — not an add-on. You practise agentic AI in your daily routine, apply context engineering to sharpen your outputs, and use AI-assisted automation to work efficiently. You assess the quality of AI-generated content before you act on it. And you actively guide customers in understanding what AI adoption can deliver for their business.

You are fluent in German and proficient in English. You are available to travel.

What you'll build

You own a portfolio of large enterprise retail accounts. Your goal: deliver revenue targets and keep customers satisfied.

• You maintain current account plans and give SAP leadership a clear, transparent view of each customer.
• You identify needs across all functions and hierarchy levels — and connect them to the right SAP solutions.
• You manage all opportunities and bids for your accounts, including accurate forecasting and risk monitoring.
• You build customer engagement through strategic conversations, demonstrating the value of SAP solutions with concrete retail context.
• You prevent escalations through proactive account governance and early risk detection.

You qualify opportunities with discipline and manage your territory systematically. You bring complex problem solving to every deal and apply your industry analysis skills to stay ahead of customer needs.

Where you belong

Retail is one of SAP's strategic growth sectors — and this team is at the centre of it. The focus is on large enterprise accounts: major retail groups with multiple business lines, in both food and non-food segments. The work is twofold — replacing legacy custom solutions with SAP's standard portfolio, and winning new customers for SAP's cloud and AI-powered offering.

SAP RISE gives you a comprehensive, intelligent package to bring to market. Real-time computing with SAP HANA helps retail customers analyse fast-changing trends and respond to shifting consumer behaviour. AI is central to both what we sell and how we sell it — and every account conversation reflects that.

You will join a team of senior account executives with deep retail expertise and strong, established customer relationships. They work directly, know their accounts well, and operate at the intersection of industry knowledge and enterprise technology. If you want to shape the digital transformation of some of Germany's largest retail organisations, this is where you do it.
