Reporting To: Maintenance Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and proactive Porter to play a vital role in ensuring our facility remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents, visitors, and staff. In this hands-on position, you will be the backbone of our daily operations, taking ownership of facility cleanliness, managing waste, overseeing fundamental security protocols, and assisting with visitor check-ins. Above all, you will help establish a supportive community atmosphere based on respect, equality, and human dignity.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of communal areas, resident kitchens, laundry rooms, and external waste and recycling zones.
- Oversee site safety by routinely checking that fire exits and corridors are clear, securing designated doors, and managing visitor sign-ins.
- Adhere strictly to Health and Safety policies, GDPR confidentiality guidelines, and established Child Protection protocols.
- Complete necessary daily paperwork and actively support our Quality and Safety Management System.
- Act as a dependable point of contact, reporting any maintenance, welfare, or security concerns to management immediately.
Shift Options & Specific Duties
We offer Morning, Late, and Night shifts (covering weekdays and weekends) with varying focus areas:
- Morning Porter: Focuses on comprehensive groundskeeping, including sweeping, grass cutting, moving furniture, and assisting with minor maintenance tasks.
- Late & Night Porters: Focuses heavily on evening security, managing access gates at scheduled times, and acting as the primary contact for emergency services if disturbances occur.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in facility maintenance, janitorial services, or a similar active role.
- Basic handyman skills and the physical fitness required for a hands-on, physically demanding job.
- A dependable, adaptable self-starter with excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Desirable: First aid certification, Health and Safety training, and a strong appreciation for diversity.
Pay: €14.50-€15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
