Research Assistant Location: Ho Chi Minh City Overview: RMIT Vietnam is seeking a contingent worker for the Research Assistant role. While the position is advertised by RMIT Vietnam, the successful candidate will be employed and managed by an external service provider, who will be responsible for the labour contract. POSITION SUMMARY Your role The Research Assistant will provide research support to a specific project. Working under the general direction of the Primary Investigator, the Research Assistant will be responsible for providing support in doing literature reviews and data analysis, coordinating the day-to-day research activities of the study and acting as the first point of contract for all enquiries related to the study. Specific responsibilities will depend on the topic, nature and duration of the project, as provided by the Primary Investigator. As a Level 3 Research Assistant, you will be expected to contribute specialist support with technical or specialist expertise. Research Goals include but not limit to: Develop and test hardware and edge devices necessary for the project. Conduct a rigorous evaluation of the AI-powered support mechanisms to assess their impact on target users. Benchmark, review and improve the prototype. Reports to: Chief Investigator Key Accountabilities Conduct desktop research, literature review, and assist in research paper and report writing. Research, design, integrate and implement AI/ML-based solutions to enhance education experience. Analyse, design, develop and implement algorithms and AI-ML models to understand and evaluate teachers’ input. Collaborate with the research team for innovative approaches for identifying and mitigating noises. Work with the team to develop automated responses based on AI/ML models and algorithms. Work with the team to develop and test chatbot deployment. Key Selection Criteria Bachelor’s degree in ECS, CS, or a related field. Proven experience and expertise in AI-ML and its applications for cyber security. Familiarity with various AI platforms (e.g., TensorFlow, OpenAI) and Deep Learning. Proficient in programming languages such as Python, TensorFlow, or PyTorch. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team. Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position and RMIT Values.
