Job Description
Summary: Rivian is an automotive company focused on electric vehicles, and they are seeking an intern for their Research Park to work on functional safety. The intern will have the opportunity to engage in safety analysis of critical IPs, understand safety architecture, and perform fault injection validation tests.
Responsibilities:
- Receive training in functional safety, ISO26262 Standard, safety analysis and various tools for analysis, requirements, validation planning, etc
- Work on creating simulation models or enhancing the existing models of critical RAP SOC IP blocks
- Create fault injection automation flows to test the architecture vulnerability of RAP SOC IPs
- Review and report on fault injection metrics, derive insights regarding resilience of the design and present it to the team
- Learn from the reports to plan for additional fault injection testing on vulnerable parts of the design
Required Qualifications:
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign
- Actively pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Electrical Hardware and digital circuits knowledge (preferably CPUs, GPUs)
- Must be comfortable with RTL design, machine learning concepts, and design verification environments
- Basic scripting knowledge is required (Python)
- Must be located in Champaign, IL and able to work out of our office in the Research Park
- This opportunity requires 40 hours in the summer, with opportunity to continue working 20 hours in the fall and spring
- This project will require weekly task status update and monthly project update
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of the ISO26262 standard is preferred
