Paralegal

Summary: PrismHR is a Southern Florida non-profit pro bono law firm dedicated to serving diverse communities in Broward County. They are seeking two Paralegals for their Homeless Prevention Unit to provide essential support to clients and attorneys, ensuring proper case management and documentation. Responsibilities: - Contacting clients, the County, and opposing parties - Responding to program inquiries and referral questions - Scheduling client appointments - Reviewing court dockets for active cases - Conducting background checks and eviction history searches - Researching rental properties and landlord ownership - Conducting intake interviews - Gathering and organizing financial and personal documentation, including tax returns, pay stubs, and benefit statements (Social Security, SNAP, etc.) - Preparing basic budgets of client household expenses - Drafting intake summaries and maintaining case files - Preparing correspondence and drafting legal documents - Delivering and filing documents as needed Required Qualifications: - Paralegal Certificate or equivalent on-the-job experience required - Ability to perform legal research - Strong interviewing and client-documentation skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Strong organizational and time-management abilities - Basic computer proficiency - Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with vulnerable clients - Ability to follow direction from supervising attorneys - Demonstrated teamwork, professionalism, and collaboration - Reliable work history with consistent attendance and punctuality Required Skills: Legal research, Paralegal Certificate Important Skills: Client-documentation skills, Time-management abilities Nice-to-Have Skills: Basic computer proficiency
