Job Description
WHO WE ARE:
Palisociety is a society of unique hotels and residences — Palihouse, Palihotel, Le Petit Pali, ARRIVE by Palisociety, and a growing collection of independently branded properties. Since our first hotel opened in Los Angeles in 2009, we've grown into a nationwide portfolio of neighborhood-centric hotels, restaurants, bars, and event spaces, earning recognition from Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, the New York Times, and more.
We consider our employees our greatest asset: structured training from day one, consistent feedback, and a clear path for growth. We develop our leaders from within, because the strongest hospitality companies are the ones that grow their own.
ABOUT LE PETIT PALI LAGUNA:
Perched on Laguna Beach's famed Coast Highway at the southern end of the town's winding oceanside route, Le Petit Pali Laguna Beach is a two-story hideaway with 41 king and suite rooms, an intimate guest lobby and bar, and a sparkling pool area nestled among soaring palm trees, all just steps from Treasure Island Beach and Goff Cove, two of the area's most revered beachfront destinations.
POSITION PROFILE:
The Assistant Operations Manager keeps Le Petit Pali Laguna running smoothly across Front Desk, Guest Services, and Food & Beverage, providing hands-on leadership, administrative oversight, and guest service excellence. You'll partner closely with the General Manager and department leaders to make sure financial performance, service standards, and brand expectations are executed at a high level, every shift.
THE TASK AT HAND:
- Oversee daily hotel operations across Front Desk, Guest Services, and Food & Beverage, ensuring alignment with brand standards and SOPs.
- Provide hands-on coverage, including Front Desk shifts and visible F&B floor presence, as business demands.
- Lead service recovery efforts and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, monitoring online feedback and reviews.
- Support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management across Front Desk, F&B, Housekeeping, and Engineering.
- Manage departmental budgets, labor scheduling, and cost controls, ensuring costs stay within budgeted goals.
- Assist with on-site event execution, vendor management, and procurement of operating supplies.
- Handle administrative operations, including reservations, payroll and timecards, comps, POS, and weekly reporting.
- Participate in the Safety Committee and respond to audit findings to drive continuous improvement.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Required
- Minimum 3 years in a hotel leadership role; Front Desk leadership required.
- Strong knowledge of hotel and Food & Beverage operations, with prior supervisory or management experience.
- Financial acumen, including labor management, cost control, and budget oversight.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; sound decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
- Guest-service oriented with a proactive, hands-on leadership style.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical
- Ability to stand or walk a minimum of 8 hours, with mobility for prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
- Competitive compensation package with medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus 401(k).
- Paid time off, holiday pay, and sick pay.
- Career advancement and professional development as we open new hotels and restaurants nationwide.
- Employee discounts across our entire portfolio (25 hotels and more to come!).
