Summary: Material Transport is a company dedicated to accuracy, safety, and operational excellence. They are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Coordinator to help ensure smooth yard operations, inventory management, and shipping processes. The role involves maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting quality standards, and promoting workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
- Manage inbound freight activities, including material identification, labeling, and damage documentation through photographs
- Maintain awareness of material locations throughout the yard to support accurate warehouse management system (WM) bin assignments
- Verify physical inventory placement against system records and investigate discrepancies
- Perform regular cycle counts to support inventory accuracy and operational efficiency
- Inspect outbound shipments to verify the correct materials are loaded before trucks depart
- Help eliminate shipping errors by confirming products match order requirements
- Work closely with operations teams to resolve discrepancies quickly and efficiently
- Develop a thorough understanding of yard and warehouse processes and ensure procedures are followed consistently
- Support quality assurance initiatives that improve operational performance and accuracy
- Utilize SAP WM to manage inventory transactions and maintain system integrity
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
- Train employees on safe work practices for safety-critical processes throughout the facility
- Monitor operations for potential hazards and help maintain a safe work environment
- Reinforce company safety standards and promote a culture of accountability and awareness
- Oversee yard cleanliness and organization to support a productive work environment
- Inspect yard surfaces for damage, hazards, and unsafe conditions
- Monitor the damaged product rehabilitation area and ensure proper handling of materials
- Assist with opening and securing facility access points as part of daily operations
- Step into various yard and warehouse functions as operational needs arise
- Support workforce capacity requirements and contribute wherever needed to keep operations running efficiently
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to achieve daily and long-term goals
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience using SAP WM or comparable warehouse management systems
- Strong inventory management and cycle counting abilities
- Ability to accurately inspect inbound and outbound materials
- Basic computer proficiency and experience using inventory tracking systems
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Effective communication and training abilities
- Proactive problem-solving mindset
- Willingness to support multiple operational functions as business needs change
- Commitment to safety, accountability, and teamwork
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, quality assurance, or a related field
- Experience working in a fast-paced industrial or yard environment
- Forklift certification
- Safety-related certifications
