Job Description
Summary: NSF is a global organization dedicated to improving human and planet health through science and innovation. They are seeking an intern for their Ann Arbor Laboratory Internship to provide hands-on experience in a professional laboratory setting, focusing on analytical testing in the Testing Inspection and Certification (TIC) domain.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting laboratory staff in conducting tests and experiments
- Preparing samples for analysis and running various analytical tests
- Maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments
- Recording and analyzing experimental data
- Preparing reports and presentations on laboratory findings
- Supporting laboratory staff in activities such as ordering supplies, sample management, data review/archival, laboratory maintenance
Required Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a 2- or 4-year science, engineering, or technical program
- Must have a GPA of 2.8 or higher
- Must have completed at least one semester of science course work preferably in chemistry, microbiology or engineering/mechanical courses
- Must have basic knowledge of laboratory safety and procedures
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Follow instructions and behave in a respectful and professional manner
