Job Description
Summary: Northrop Grumman is a leader in aerospace and defense technology, seeking an Aeronautical Integration and Test Engineer – Level 1 or Level 2 to join their team in Huntsville, AL. The role involves supporting the integration and testing of air launched and ground launched vehicles, requiring a mechanical engineering background and experience with complex systems.
Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the development of detailed work instructions, processes and procedures directing the assembly and test of launch vehicle systems
- Ensuring consistent application of assembly processes and philosophies across all products
- Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and translate requirements into work instructions
- Coordinating integration activities and schedules with operations supervisors, program engineers and various customer organizations
- Documenting hardware defects/test anomalies, develop/implement robust and effective corrective actions
- Identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement and participate in implementation
- Supporting launch operations, as required
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 0 years of professional experience for Level 1
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience for Level 2
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance
- Experience following detailed work instructions, such as complex engineer drawings or blueprints
- Skills to write test procedures and review test data to ensure
- Hands on integration experience with multiple sub-systems or components
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering
- Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
- Familiarity with 3D CAD modeling (Siemens NX preferred or Solid Works)
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (iBase-T/Solumina)
- Experience or exposure to testing, system integration, and vehicle launch operations
