Morrow
Founding Commercial Insurance Producer at Morrow in San Francisco
Job Description
About Us
Morrow is an AI-native commercial insurance brokerage in San Francisco. We help businesses buy coverage from 100+ carriers. We’re building AI to handle the paperwork, submissions, and carrier systems behind every policy - giving our producers the time and tools to sell more and build bigger books.
We’re backed by leading venture capital firms, angel investors, and C-suite executives at some of the world’s largest insurers. We’re aiming to grow 100x over the next year, and we’re building the team to make it happen. We work in person, move quickly, and expect everyone to take ownership of building the business.
Our ambition is to build the first autonomous insurance group. We’re starting with brokerage, then using what we learn about businesses and risk to create and underwrite our own insurance products. Insurance spending represents 12% of U.S. GDP. We’re building a company to go after all of it.
Our mission
To protect the things people spend their life building.
What you’ll do
- Win new business. Make 100+ calls a day to small and medium sized businesses, combining outbound prospecting with qualified opportunities we provide. Success means closing policies and growing revenue.
- Own the sale from first conversation to close. Understand each customer’s business, earn their trust, handle objections, and follow through. Give every opportunity the attention it deserves, even on your busiest days.
- Use technology to sell more effectively. Put our AI and automation tools to work on preparation, submissions, and follow-ups. Tell our engineers what slows you down and help them build tools that make you better at your job.
- Grow your client relationships. Identify additional coverage needs and introduce relevant products as our offering expands. Build a book that grows through new business, renewals, and referrals.
- Help shape how we sell. Share the approaches that win customers and the lessons from deals you lose. Work directly with the founders to turn what you learn into a sales process the whole team can use.
*What we’re looking for *
- 1–5 years of sales experience: You’ve prospected, built relationships, and closed deals. We welcome candidates from any industry.
- A track record of exceeding sales quotas: You can point to concrete results—revenue generated, customers won, or quota attainment.
- Excellent communication skills: You ask thoughtful questions, understand what customers need, and earn their trust. You are clear, professional and patient.
- Ownership and follow-through: You take responsibility for your pipeline, stay disciplined about outreach, and keep opportunities moving through to close.
- Curiosity about technology: You’re eager to use AI and automation to sell more effectively and help improve how we work.
- Ambition to grow in sales: You’re excited to build a career in sales, sharpen your skills, and take on more responsibility as you grow in the role.
Note: No insurance license required to apply. If you’re not already licensed, we’ll help you obtain your property and casualty producer license in under a month.
How we help you succeed
- Automation that gives you time back: Our technology reduces repetitive work across submissions, documents, and carrier portals, freeing you to focus on sales and client relationships.
- A budget for paid customer acquisition: We invest in leads and acquisition campaigns to help you build your pipeline.
- Qualified opportunities: We pass you opportunities received and qualified centrally by Morrow.
- Direct access to the founding team: Work with us on opportunities, share what clients need, and help shape the business as it grows.
How we work
- Ownership and proactivity: Take responsibility for an outcome from beginning to end. Identify problems and act without waiting to be assigned.
- Integrity: Our customers trust us to protect their livelihoods. We earn that trust through honest communication.
- Customer focus: Spend time with customers and understand their businesses. Build things that help them get the right coverage with less effort.
- Ambition: Think big enough to change one of the largest industries in the country.
- No hierarchy: Work directly with the people closest to the problem and keep decisions moving. High agency, low ego.
- Obligation to dissent: Challenge assumptions. Speak up when something is wrong.
Compensation and benefits
- Salary: $80,000–$160,000 OTE. Top performers can earn substantially more.
- Equity: yes
- Commissions: You keep 40% of the revenue from the new business you bring in and 20% of the recurring revenue when those clients renew.
- Location: San Francisco, in-office.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6 AM–8 PM.
- Benefits: Health insurance, team meals and snacks, and additional benefits.
