POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Compliance team focused on operational risk assessment.
This role is ideal for a student interested in compliance, risk management, regulatory analysis, or legal and business operations. The intern will assist with evaluating compliance testing structures, validating policy and procedural alignment, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness across compliance and quality assurance efforts. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic corporate environment, supporting compliance strategies across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Testing & Policy Alignment
- Cross-map corporate and client policies and desktop procedures to compliance testing lead sheets.
- Review and update testing lead sheets to ensure alignment with current policies and procedures.
- Validate that testing documentation reflects accurate, current, and complete compliance requirements.
Quality Assurance Coordination
- Obtain access to Quality Assurance (QA) tests, including scope, criteria, and supporting lead sheets.
- Cross-map Compliance testing with QA testing to identify areas of duplication or overlap.
- Analyze testing frameworks and provide recommendations to Compliance and QA management to streamline testing efforts and reduce redundancy.
Regulatory & State Law Review
- Compare state law matrices to identify potential gaps or inconsistencies.
- Validate state law matrices against state law training documents and Specialty Servicing, Private, and Legacy FFELP training procedures.
- Make updates to matrices and documentation as needed to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and present summaries of findings, updates, and accomplishments to Compliance management.
- Perform other compliance-related projects and administrative duties as assigned.

JOB DETAILS:
- Durations and Hours: This part-time temporary position requires approximately 15 hours per week, with flexible work hours scheduled within regular business hours. This is a spring internship with an expected start date of May 25, 2026.
- Compensation: This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $15 per hour. If your academic institution allows you to receive course credit for internship experiences, you must coordinate credit requirements directly with your college or university and communicate to the Foundation any employer requirements (such as supervisory assessments) your institution requires for course credit.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must reside within 1 hour of our Columbia, MO or Chesterfield, MO office and be able to work onsite.
- Enrollment in an accredited Missouri college or university in an undergraduate program in business, pre-law, or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Microsoft Office Suite competency.
- Coursework or experience related to compliance, auditing, regulatory analysis, or legal research.
- Basic data analysis and Excel skills.
