Job Title: Inspector, 3rd
Department/Divison: Heat Treat
Location: Kersey, PA
Reports to : Operation Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt (Paid Overtime)
GENERAL:
Responsible for conducting inspections and reporting results in support of production operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Perform most hardness, inspections, including flat, round, and irregularly shaped parts with close supervision.
- Calibrate and operate all hardness testing equipment.
- Identify and report conditions that do not meet customer specifications.
- Conduct hardness inspections using all given scales.
- Use micrometers, calipers, and other gages as required.
- Maintain clean work areas and orderly storage of fixtures, gages and special inspection equipment.
- Wear personal protective equipment and follow safety instructions as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 50 lb. parts and other items from floor to waist on a regular basis while protecting lifted items from damage.
- Must be able to stand for several consecutive hours without rest, with frequent bending and reaching.
- Must be able to tolerate a hot work environment periodically, even at times when summer outdoor temperatures combine with residual heat from furnaces.
- Must be able to walk within and between areas constantly and climb stairs occasionally.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to retain instructions sufficient to perform repeat tasks successfully and with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to comprehend and comply with requirements of the Quality Systems Manual as instructed. CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt (Paid Overtime)
