Job Description
Summary: LMI is a digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. They are seeking a Software Development Intern to analyze complex processes, assess operations, and contribute to software development efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing complex processes from an enterprise perspective
- Assessing operations, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and developing solutions
- Documenting functional capability requirements for subsequent use as the basis for software development
- Conducting and documenting results from functional software tests
- Performing studies and analyses and generating technical documentation of the results
- Contributing to software development / programming efforts
Required Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a undergrad or graduate degree seeking program
- Availability to work full-time for at least 10-12 weeks
- Pursuing a major in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Math, Operations Research, Business Administration, or related fields
- Basic proficiency with a variety of data analysis tools, spreadsheets, and database programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose and write a variety of internal and external documents, reports, and presentations
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills required, with ability to develop and maintain professional relationships within LMI and with its clients
- Ability to contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork, and fostering positive communication
- Strong problem solving, time-management, and organizational skills
- Strong planning skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritize assignments with minimum supervision
- Must be self-directed and detail oriented in completing assigned tasks and projects
- Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- For this position, LMI will only consider applicants who are eligible for security clearances
- Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Agile software development practices
- JavaScript, Python, Postgres, and REACT, APIs
- Ability to program and learn new programming languages quickly
