Design Manager - Interior Fitout at Lloyd Design Fitouts LLC in Dubai

We are looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead and manage our Interior Fit-Out Design Department.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the total design team and overseeing the complete design process from concept development to detailed drawings and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan, allocate, and monitor design work across Interior Designers, Architects, FF&E Engineers, Technical Designers, Draftsmen, and other design team members.

· Ensure the right resources are assigned to each project based on project requirements, timelines, and team capabilities.

· Oversee design concepts, presentations, layouts, detailed drawings and technical submissions.

· Act as a design consultant to clients, understanding their requirements and providing suitable design solutions.

· Develop value-engineered design options that balance aesthetics, functionality, quality, and project budget.

· Work closely with Sales and Estimation teams during tenders and proposals to improve the winning probability of Design & Build projects.

· Develop creative and commercially viable design proposals that differentiate the company from competitors.

· Participate in client presentations and confidently present design concepts and solutions.

· Ensure design proposals are practical, buildable, and aligned with project budgets.

· Coordinate with Sales, Estimation, Procurement, Project Management, MEP, and Site Teams.

· Review designs and drawings to ensure accuracy, quality, coordination, and proper execution.

· Resolve design and technical issues during project execution.

· Ensure all design deliverables are completed on time.

· Develop and maintain design standards, procedures, and workflows.

· Monitor team performance, productivity, and workload and provide guidance and training.

· Identify manpower requirements and support recruitment and development of the design team.

· Report design department progress, workload, performance, and key issues to management.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.

· 8+ years of experience in interior design/fit-out.

· Previous experience managing a multidisciplinary design team is required.

· Strong experience in commercial interior fit-out and Design & Build projects.

· Good knowledge of interior design, architecture, technical drawings, FF&E, materials, and construction methods.

· Strong understanding of value engineering and cost-conscious design solutions.

· Good understanding of MEP coordination.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or relevant design software.

· Strong leadership, communication, presentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

A hands-on design leader who can take complete ownership of the Design Department, effectively manage a multidisciplinary team, provide professional design advice to clients, develop commercially viable design solutions, and support the company in winning and successfully delivering high-quality Design & Build projects.

Pay: Up to AED15,000.00 per month
