Technical Cofounder at Latency in San Francisco

Latency
I'm building Latency. We cut companies' AI bills 30 to 50%, then use the savings to build the AI systems that actually grow their business.

The role.
A technical cofounder with expertise in applied AI and LLM systems. Owns technical delivery of the initial product and service offerings.

Why now.
Enterprise AI spend is exploding. 40 to 60% of it is waste. Coinbase cut its own AI bill nearly in half while usage kept growing, using the same levers we're selling. The proof already exists. Most companies just don't have the team to capture it, or to build what comes next.

The initial offer/wedge.
A $2,500 audit. About a week. We trace their spend, find the waste, hand them a savings number in writing. From there: a fixed fee sprint, typically $15,000 to $40,000, priced against the savings we found. This funds the real product we are building.

The business.
AI cost optimization is our initial offer and relationship builder. What we build past it is found by doing real work for our first 10 or so clients and watching for what repeats. I'm focused on building a product that can be built once and sold 10,000 times.

What we're not building.
A venture funded growth chase. Another agency trading hours for client work forever. The goal is a high-margin business built at a sustainable pace, with a small team, that doesn't need more headcount to grow.

Why me.
At Akimbo, my current studio, I sell and deliver services to companies from early stage startups to enterprise brands, including Bloomberg, Vouch, HeyJane, Messari and Stanford. I know how to price an offer, manage clients, build a roadmap, and run growth.

What you'd own.
Technical delivery, start to finish. Cost engineering. Early client builds. And the harder job: watching for what repeats across clients, what's worth systemizing instead of rebuilding by hand every time.

Who I'm looking for.

• Shipped production LLM systems. Real agents and RAG in front of real users, not notebooks.
• Fluent in the cost stack: gateways, caching, routing, API billing.
• Ships fast. MVP over perfect.
• Wants something durable, built at a sustainable pace.
• Looking to get out of a 9-5, fine to keep it while we start.

How we start.
One real engagement together first, a founding client audit, before either of us commits to more.
If it works: real equity, a clear split, and we build the rest together.

This is a cofounder seat, not a job. Any salary shown is a placeholder for job board visibility.
