Job Description
Summary: KBR is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join their team. This internship will provide experience working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment within an engineering and manufacturing facility, focusing on various mechanical engineering tasks under supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in research, design, modify, develop and evaluate systems, products, components, and applications by applying fundamental mechanical engineering principles
- Validate vendor equipment performance and capabilities by developing testing methods, performing tests, and documenting test results
- Support senior engineers with final system performance through execution of test procedures and data analysis
- Research and identify mechanical parts, components, and materials
- Manage data, including test results, Bills-of-Material, quotations, drawings, technical data sheets, etc
- Perform hardware assembly and equipment installations
- Communicate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines, manufacturing personnel, management, vendors, customers, and subcontractors
- Support engineering documentation, i.e., drawings, project specifications, procedures, test data and results
- Abide by company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks
Required Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled at college or university pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic experience using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00
- Able to work up to 40 hours per week during the internship program
