Summary: KBR is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join their team. This internship will provide experience working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment within an engineering and manufacturing facility, focusing on various mechanical engineering tasks under supervision. Responsibilities: - Assist in research, design, modify, develop and evaluate systems, products, components, and applications by applying fundamental mechanical engineering principles - Validate vendor equipment performance and capabilities by developing testing methods, performing tests, and documenting test results - Support senior engineers with final system performance through execution of test procedures and data analysis - Research and identify mechanical parts, components, and materials - Manage data, including test results, Bills-of-Material, quotations, drawings, technical data sheets, etc - Perform hardware assembly and equipment installations - Communicate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines, manufacturing personnel, management, vendors, customers, and subcontractors - Support engineering documentation, i.e., drawings, project specifications, procedures, test data and results - Abide by company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks Required Qualifications: - Must be currently enrolled at college or university pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering Preferred Qualifications: - Basic experience using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software - Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills - Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 - Able to work up to 40 hours per week during the internship program Required Skills: Mechanical engineering principles, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Stress analysis, Strain analysis, Thermal management, Hardware integration, Component selection, Engineering documentation, Test procedure execution, Data analysis, Vendor equipment testing, Bill of Materials management Benefits: Mentorship from senior engineers, Cutting edge projects, relevant to real world challenges, Work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment, Competitive pay and great company culture
