Job Description
Job title: Accountant **Location:**Wuse 2, Abuja, Nigeria Work Schedule: Full Time | Onsite | Monday - Friday | 9 - 5
Job summary
We provide training and IT advisory services to government agencies and private sector clients. Our Accountant is expected to be an analytical and proactive individual, with the ability to manage a wide range of tasks critical to effective operations.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Finance Director on day-to-day cash management and ensure that the company's finance policies are implemented in line with best practices.
- Maintain accurate financial records of the company and prepare financial statements in compliance with accounting standards. You will also be responsible for managing the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to management to ensure the financial health of the company.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations and filing tax returns on a timely basis.
- Coordinating with external auditors and ensuring that all audit requirements are met.
- Analyzing financial data to identify trends, forecast future performance, and provide recommendations to management to improve financial performance.
- Ensuring that the company has strong internal controls in place to prevent fraud and errors.
- Ensuring that the company complies with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and laws.
- Providing financial planning and analysis support to management, including analyzing business performance, identifying opportunities for growth, and providing recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Assist in preparation of staff payroll, payroll/benefit-related reconciliations and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory authorities through prompt remittance of appropriate deductions such as VAT, WHT, pension, PAYE, and NHF, among others.
- Assist in insurance, pension and HMO documentation and management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a related field.
- Being ICAN or ACA certified is an added advantage.
- Experience in financial reporting, tax and auditing.
- Deep knowledge of Managerial accounting; ratios, relative performance, IRR, EOI, gearing, etc.
- Excellent math and data-entry skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites – Word, Excel,
- PowerPoint. Proficiency in the use of accounting software such as SAGE.
- A methodological approach and high problem-solving skills.

- Detailed-oriented and sound numerical
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of IT will be an added advantage.
Benefits
Compensation: NGN 400,000 – 600,000 monthly Net
