Summary: Jacobs is an engineering and professional services company solving critical problems across infrastructure and other complex environments. The company is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to support transportation projects in Nashville through highway and roadway planning, design, maintenance, and related engineering tasks under the guidance of senior technical staff.
Responsibilities:
- Design and engineering services for highways, expressways, and major road networks
- Preparation of right-of-way plans, detailed roadway designs, drainage, floodplain management, and intersection improvements
- Utilizing CADD to prepare various engineering drawings, layouts, and/or models to communicate project details in accordance with established standards and procedure
- Collaboration with environmental scientists, utility locates, and surveyors to meet stringent requirements and address maintenance and improvement needs
- Assist in providing technical and operational support for exposure to
+ Highway engineering principles, standards, and practices;
+ Project Delivery for key clients (including the design, environmental, and procurement processes);
+ Various Related Highway Disciplines (Stormwater management, green infrastructure, utilities, structures, etc)
Required Qualifications:
- • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- • Course work related to transportation
- • Previous design intern experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- • Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain within 6 months
- • Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (Microstation/Inroads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D)
- • Ability to utilize design manuals, as needed
- • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
