Job Description
About Incompass Labs
Talent is the #1 competitive advantage for companies operating in the knowledge economy. Why then, are the systems for assessing and developing this talent so bad.
Take the performance review process: it requires weeks or months (and many hours, from many people) to complete; the information employees receive back is incomplete and mostly unhelpful; the process relies on managers (who, like all of us, have biases and their own agendas) to spot future talent; and leaders are left with unreliable data on which to base investment decisions. At best, this is a huge waste of time; at worst, this leads to the wrong people staying in a job, while the right people leave.
Incompass’s platform uses AI and data science to enable organizations to complete performance review cycles in weeks not months; it delivers reliable assessments that help companies retain key contributors and spot future talent; and provides individuals with the support they need to own their development.
Founded by Wharton School professors, Incompass is positioned to deliver a solution that works, in a space that is ripe for disruption. We are growing fast, and just closed another successful round of fundraising, backed by industry leaders in business and HR. Join us in our mission to reimagine how organizations build teams and grow their people.
The Role
We’re hiring our first Product Manager to join our founding team and help shape the future of Incompass. You’ll work directly with the CEO, CTO, and VP of Customer Success to develop and execute a customer-centric roadmap that balances vision with speed.
This is a generalist, builder-first role—ideal for someone who wants to take full ownership of outcomes and isn’t afraid to go from strategy to specs to shipped. Over time, this role could evolve into a Group Product Manager position, depending on your goals and growth.
We are looking for someone in NYC or Boston. We are a virtual company, but we value time together and are intentionally hiring in hubs so that these connection points can be frequent and, even, spontaneous, in addition to the organized in-person meetings and work sessions.
What You'll Do
- Define and own product strategy and roadmap in collaboration with company leadership
- Translate customer insights and business needs into clear product requirements
- Ship high-quality features fast, then learn and iterate based on feedback
- Build a customer-centric mindset into the culture of the product team, and the company more broadly
- Be curious, but opinionated with a bias toward action
- Develop a foundation for product processes at Incompass
What We're Looking For
- 4–7 years of product management experience, ideally at a B2B SaaS company
- Experience building and iterating on early-stage products
- A strong generalist mindset—you’re comfortable wearing multiple hats
- Clear communicator with strong product instincts, but also an innate curiosity about our customer
- A low-ego, high-impact teammate who cares more about team wins than personal credit. You bring positive energy to every room you’'re in
Why Join Us
- You'll have outsized impact on the product and company direction
- You'll work directly with founders who are invested in building a great product and a great company
- You'll grow fast—as a builder, teammate, and leader
- You can work from home, and also spend time in person collaborating with the team at (appx) quarterly monthly off-sites
- You’ll be an owner of the business so your success will not only help the company, but also have meaningful impact for you, personally
