INTERN; Manufacturing engineer

Summary: Coherent is a global leader in lasers, engineered materials and networking components, and they are seeking an intern in Manufacturing Engineering. The role involves supporting re-engineering projects, creating CAD models, and helping identify production issues. Responsibilities: - Support re-engineering floor plan projects for new product line set up - Create and modify 2d drawings and 3d CAD models - Make basic modifications to existing parts using machining equipment (training will be provided) - Help identify issues on the production floor - Enter newly designed components into Coherent ERP system (training will be provided) Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing a degree in engineering - Mechanical aptitude - Good understanding of how mechanical systems are built and taken apart - Solution oriented, ability to creatively solve issues in a timely manner and provide clear solutions - Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed - Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment - Solidworks experience a must - Mechanical Drawing and Drafting experience a must Required Skills: Solidworks, Mechanical Drawing Important Skills: Mechanical Aptitude
