Job Description
Summary: IDEXX is offering a 12-week internship with their ServiceNow team, providing an opportunity to engage in ServiceNow development. The intern will be involved in developing custom forms, automating processes, writing scripts, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
Responsibilities:
- Writing, testing, and debugging scripts (JavaScript) in the ServiceNow platform
- Developing custom forms and solutions on the ServiceNow platform
- Working with ServiceNow modules such as Incident Management, Change Management, and Knowledge Management
- Collaborating with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing workflows and processes
- Engaging in self-study through online learning resources like video tutorials, courses, and documentation to deepen your knowledge of ServiceNow and development practices
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have completed at least one year of college
- A track record of student success and potential as demonstrated by GPA, research portfolio, prior work experiences, and/or recommendations from professors
- Strong motivation to learn independently by utilizing online resources such as learning platforms, YouTube tutorials, and technical documentation
- Basic proficiency in programming and scripting languages (JavaScript preferred)
- Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Familiarity with databases or SQL queries is a plus
- Strong interest in self-learning and the ability to take initiative in acquiring new skills
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical team members
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on learning and projects
- A collaborative and team-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the ServiceNow platform or any other IT service management tools
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs or web services
- Exposure to Agile methodologies or project management tools
- Build a Simple Form and Workflow Process (Optional)
- A form with fields for user input
- A simple workflow to automate the process based on the form submission
- Ensure that the form and workflow are functional and can be easily explained during an interview
