Staff Access Request Tracker

Office Administration Staff Access Requests | Remote | Full-time | 57,200–60,320 per year

Keep access requests visible

A staff member needs access to an online system, but only the designated administrator can grant it. The Staff Access Request Tracker records the request, checks whether the standard information is present, and keeps its status visible while it moves through approval. This remote office administration role does not create accounts, assign permissions, or decide whether someone is eligible for access.

If a request lacks the system name or the approving manager, ask for that detail according to the employer's process. If an approval arrives, connect it to the existing ticket and route it to the person authorized to act. A later question about timing deserves the actual recorded status, not a promise that access will be ready that day. When a request has been completed, confirm that the administrator marked it done before closing the tracking item.

The work relies on customer service skills when communicating with colleagues: brief acknowledgements, specific questions, and respectful updates. It also calls for careful handling of internal information. Do not place passwords, private staff details, or permission lists in a general spreadsheet. The employer will show you the approved ticketing and record systems.

A manager's approval and an administrator's completed access change are two different events. Log them separately, keeping the request connected to the system and staff member named in the original ticket. If the staff member changes roles while the request is pending, flag the new instruction to the access owner before sending another status update. Do not copy passwords or access codes into the tracker. When a colleague asks what is taking time, report the step that is actually pending and the team responsible for it, without giving an unsupported completion time.

Tasks may include

Read assigned online requests for system access. Check for a system name, requester, and required approval information. Connect a later manager reply to the original ticket.

Route complete requests to the authorized administrator. Update pending, approved, and completed status under guidance. Follow up on an item that has no clear owner.

Answer routine status questions from the existing record. Flag urgent or unusual requests for a lead.

Customer service, office administration, or shared-inbox experience may help, but no technical certification is necessary. The employer will train a newcomer on its access workflow and security rules. You should be comfortable using online forms, reading a request closely, and recognizing the boundary between tracking and granting access.

This remote position has a full-time schedule. A home office or similarly private setting is useful for staff records. The hiring company will specify actual coverage times.

If a request is withdrawn or a staff member changes teams, keep the updated instruction attached to the original ticket. A completed status should be supported by the administrator's confirmation, not just a manager's approval. This helps the team avoid giving a misleading answer when access is still pending.

In this position, good customer service is often a concise internal message: what was received, which detail is missing and who is reviewing it. Office administration provides the audit trail that lets the authorized administrator finish the work safely. A beginner can learn the ticket stages and escalation rules; no security administration credential is expected. Experience tracking a school request, a purchase approval or an office email queue can show the same organizational habits. A private home office supports responsible handling of staff information.

To be considered

Show an example of tracking a request through several steps or keeping an owner informed. It may come from school, volunteering, or another job. You need not have administered software. The employer may direct applicants it selects for the next step to its website to apply. The team will describe its systems and training during selection.
