Overview
South Pointe Chevrolet is seeking a results-driven and customer-focused Sales Manager to lead our sales team and drive dealership growth. The ideal candidate is a proven automotive sales leader with strong coaching, leadership, and relationship-building skills. This role is responsible for overseeing daily sales operations, developing high-performing sales consultants, maximizing profitability, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from initial contact through vehicle delivery.
The Sales Manager will play a key role in achieving sales targets, maintaining compliance with dealership standards, and fostering a positive, high-energy team environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop the dealership sales team to achieve and exceed individual and departmental sales goals.
- Monitor daily sales activities, performance metrics, and key dealership objectives.
- Recruit, train, coach, and mentor sales consultants to improve product knowledge, sales effectiveness, and customer service skills.
- Assist sales staff in qualifying customers, structuring deals, and closing sales opportunities.
- Ensure all customers receive an exceptional and professional dealership experience.
- Manage inventory presentation and collaborate with leadership to maintain appropriate vehicle inventory levels.
- Review sales reports, forecasts, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Maintain compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer standards, and applicable regulations.
- Partner with the Finance & Insurance team to maximize profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Address customer concerns and resolve escalated issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of automotive sales leadership experience, preferably in a dealership environment.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving team performance.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to analyze sales data and implement effective business strategies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, dealership management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
