The salary range for this position is $22.84 to $34.26 , with an anticipated hiring range of $22.84 to $ 28.55 based on qualifications and experience. The broader range reflects the full pay grade for the position, including future growth opportunities within the role
The BSA and CRA Specialist is responsible for reviewing commercial loans, donations, volunteering, and investments for GLCU and Mortgage Forward as spelled out in the Illinois Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Ensuring or filing of Loan Activity Register (LAR) is filed timely. Be the subject matter expert of the vendor(s) used for reporting CRA, and ensure the state of Illinois CRA laws and regulations are followed by GLCU and Mortgage Forward. Working with internal members to ensure the preparation of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) are accurate and timely, reviewing enhanced due diligence alerts for high risk members and activity and gathering additional information from Retail staff as needed, perform due diligence on higher risk members, and work with internal members to clear Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) suspects.
As the BSA and CRA Specialist your duties will be:
- Performs the necessary functions to comply with CRA laws and regulations of the state of Illinois and GLCU's CRA policy and procedures.
- Review commercial and business loans along with the CRA Officer to determine reporting qualifications.
- Reviews GLCU and GLCU Foundation donations for reporting qualifications and impact to GLCU and Mortgage Forward.
- Document volunteering for reporting qualifications and impact, to GLCU and Mortgage Forward.
- Work with the CRA Officer to build CRA reports
- Completes CTRs preparation
- Reviews and acknowledge enhanced due diligence (EDD) alerts
- Clears OFAC suspect hits
- Other duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensures public binders are up to date.
- Regular reviews of branches for public disclosure.
- Participate in special projects for the Sr. Manager of BSA & CRA
Requirements needed for success in the role:
- Must have a two-year degree in a related field or completion of a specialized study at school, or extensive in-house training
- Minimum of one year of similar or related experience
- Must have some experience or understanding of CRA.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (specifically the ability to sort, filter, and create a pivot table), Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and write with a level of professionalism.
- Experience with CRA software is a plus.
- Understanding basic BSA requirements for CTRs and OFAC clearing is helpful.
- Completion of anti-money laundering/counter finance of terrorism certificates or specialized study from accredited institution.
- Must have basic knowledge in Excel (specifically the ability to sort, filter, and create a pivot table) and anti-money laundering software.
