Glas Operations
Store Manager – Popular Fast Food… at Glas Operations · Durbanvil…
Job Description
About the role
We're a well-known fast food franchise looking for a Store Manager who truly runs their store. That means planning ahead, following systems properly, keeping the admin accurate, and leading the team without needing someone to step in.
If you're the kind of manager who finishes what you start, documents things properly and stays calm when it's busy, we'd like to hear from you.
What you'll be responsible for
- Planning: weekly rosters, stock orders and staffing for peak times, done ahead, not on the day
- Stock and cash: receiving deliveries, GRVs, weekly stock takes, cash-ups and deposit controls, all accurate and on time
- Your team: leading, training and motivating kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Discipline done properly: issuing warnings that follow company policy and labour law, documented correctly and sent to the office the same day
- Standards: daily control sheets, food safety, hygiene and cleaning schedules
- Customers: handling complaints personally, professionally and with follow-through
- Admin: timesheets, warnings, stock and cash reports sent to the office accurately and on deadline
You'll do well here if you:
- Have at least 2 years' experience managing a fast food, restaurant or retail store
- Have a Matric (a hospitality or retail management qualification is an advantage)
- Plan your week instead of reacting to it
- Follow procedures properly, even when no one is checking
- Stay calm and professional with staff and customers, especially under pressure
- Take ownership: when something goes wrong in your store, you deal with it
- Finish what you commit to, from admin to training to follow-ups
- Are available for a 6-day rostered week (45 hours), including evenings, weekends and public holidays
This role is not for you if:
- You see admin and paperwork as someone else's job
- You need constant reminders to meet deadlines
- You'd rather avoid a difficult conversation than handle it properly
What we offer
- Market-related salary, based on experience
- Structured in-store training with an experienced manager when you start
- Clear systems, checklists and a supportive admin office
- A stable, established franchise group
How to apply
Apply through Indeed and answer the screening questions, including two short written questions (a few sentences each):
- Tell us about a time you had to discipline a staff member. What steps did you follow?
- How do you plan your week as a store manager?
Applications that don't answer both questions won't be considered. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview, and references will be checked.
