Job Summary
The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in managing the company’s financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing comprehensive financial reports, supporting internal and external audits, monitoring budgets and cash flow, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulations.
The ideal candidate should have strong accounting and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to independently prepare and analyze financial reports to support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Assist in preparing Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and other management reports.
- Prepare budget-versus-actual reports and investigate significant variances.
- Provide financial analysis and explanations to support management decision-making.
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing financial forecasts and budgets.
- Ensure financial reports are accurate, complete, and submitted within required deadlines.
- Maintain supporting documentation and schedules for all financial reports.
2. Accounting & Financial Operations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
- Review and record daily financial transactions.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accounts are properly maintained.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Review supplier invoices, payment requests, purchase orders, and supporting documents.
- Prepare payment schedules and assist with supplier payments.
- Monitor outstanding customer balances and coordinate collection follow-ups.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Monitor petty cash and cash transactions.
- Ensure proper recording and classification of revenue and expenses.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
3. Auditing & Compliance
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Prepare financial records, schedules, supporting documents, and reconciliations required by auditors.
- Conduct periodic internal checks and reviews of financial transactions and documentation.
- Identify financial discrepancies, control weaknesses, or unusual transactions and immediately report them to the Finance Manager.
- Ensure proper documentation and authorization are available for all financial transactions.
- Assist in implementing recommendations arising from internal or external audits.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies, accounting procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and audit trails.
4. Budgeting & Cash Flow
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing annual and departmental budgets.
- Monitor departmental spending against approved budgets.
- Prepare budget variance reports and highlight overspending or unusual expenses.
- Assist in preparing weekly and monthly cash flow reports.
- Support the preparation of short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor upcoming financial obligations and ensure management is informed of significant payment requirements.
- Support management in controlling costs and improving financial efficiency.
5. Revenue & Cost Control
- Monitor company revenue and ensure that income is accurately recorded.
- Reconcile revenue records against system reports, bank deposits, cash collections, and other supporting documents.
- Review departmental expenses and identify areas of unnecessary or excessive spending.
- Assist in implementing effective cost-control measures.
- Investigate financial discrepancies and report findings to the Finance Manager.
- Support management with profitability and cost analysis when required.
6. Finance Manager Support
- Provide day-to-day support to the Finance Manager in all financial and accounting activities.
- Prepare reports, reconciliations, financial schedules, and analysis requested by the Finance Manager.
- Assist with financial planning and forecasting.
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing reports and presentations for senior management.
- Follow up with other departments regarding outstanding financial information and documentation.
- Assist in implementing and improving financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Take responsibility for assigned Finance Department activities during the Finance Manager’s absence when authorized.
7. Documentation & Internal Controls
- Ensure all financial records are properly filed and maintained.
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation for payments, purchases, revenue, and financial adjustments.
- Ensure transactions follow the company's approval authority and financial procedures.
- Protect confidential financial and company information.
- Assist in strengthening financial controls and reducing financial risks.
- Immediately escalate suspected errors, irregularities, or financial misconduct to the Finance Manager and management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting.
- Demonstrated experience preparing financial and management reports.
- Practical experience supporting internal and/or external audits.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
- Good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
- UAE experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of UAE VAT and applicable financial regulations is preferred.
- Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent would be an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and ERP systems.

Pay: AED2,175.49 - AED12,140.05 per month
