Founding Sales Development Representative at Gener8 in New York, NY

About Gener8

Gener8 is reshaping the data ecosystem - empowering individuals to take control of and benefit from their data, while giving partners access to high-quality, fully consent-based behavioral insights.

We've built world-class technology to unlock raw, event-level data across LLMs, browsing, and transactions, powering some of the most sophisticated companies in the world.

Our culture is simple: Be fast. Be ambitious. Be accurate. We move quickly, think big, and hold a high bar for execution.

The Role

We're hiring a Founding Sales Development Representative, Data Partnerships to help build and scale Gener8's outbound sales engine and create qualified opportunities with the world's most sophisticated companies.

This is not a traditional SDR role where you inherit a mature playbook and follow a fixed script. This is a builder role.

You'll identify and engage decision-makers across AI companies, big tech, hedge funds, research firms, and next-generation data platforms. You will turn thoughtful research and personalized outreach into high-quality conversations for our commercial team.

You will have a direct view into how enterprise sales works from first contact through close, with the opportunity to take on broader sales ownership as Gener8 grows.

Why This Role Matters

You will be one of the first commercial hires shaping how Gener8 builds pipeline and enters new markets.

Our data supports emerging use cases across AI, search, commerce, finance, and market intelligence. The opportunity is significant, but reaching the right buyers requires curiosity, strong judgment, and highly relevant outreach.

You won't just book meetings — you'll help define our ideal customer profiles, sharpen our messaging, identify new use cases, and build a repeatable outbound motion that directly influences company growth.

What You'll Do

• Build qualified pipeline: Identify, research, and engage high-potential accounts across AI, technology, finance, research, and data.
• Own outbound prospecting: Use email, phone, LinkedIn, events, and creative outreach to connect with senior decision-makers.
• Create relevant messaging: Translate Gener8's datasets and use cases into concise, personalized outreach for different industries and buyer personas.
• Qualify opportunities: Understand each prospect's business, use case, urgency, stakeholders, and commercial potential before progressing the conversation.
• Set high-quality meetings: Create well-qualified opportunities and ensure strong context and handoffs to the sales team.
• Partner with commercial leadership: Work closely with senior sales leaders on account strategy, campaigns, events, and priority prospects.
• Build the SDR playbook: Help define targeting, sequences, messaging, qualification criteria, reporting, and the tools needed to scale.
• Use data to improve: Track activity and conversion performance, test new approaches, and continuously improve what works.
• Develop market expertise: Stay close to trends in AI, alternative data, digital behavior, and the industries we serve.
• Act like an owner: Move fast, stay organized, follow through, and take responsibility for creating opportunities.

What We're Looking For

• 1 year of experience in outbound sales development, business development, data partnerships, or another high-performance commercial role
• A track record of generating qualified meetings through thoughtful, persistent outbound prospecting
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage senior and technical stakeholders
• Strong research skills and the judgment to identify the right accounts, people, and reasons to reach out
• Commercial curiosity and a genuine interest in AI, data products, analytics, or digital ecosystems
• Builder mindset — you enjoy creating processes, testing ideas, and working without a fully established playbook
• Goal-oriented and resilient, with the persistence to handle objections and keep momentum
• Highly organized, accountable, and consistent with follow-up and CRM discipline
• Coachable, collaborative, and eager to develop into a broader sales role
• High urgency and high standards

• Be a founding SDR: Build the playbook for how Gener8 creates pipeline and enters new markets.
• Sell a category-defining product: Represent fully consented, raw behavioral data across LLMs, browsing, and purchases.
• Engage sophisticated buyers: Work with leading companies across AI, technology, finance, research, and data.
• Learn enterprise sales: Work closely with commercial leadership and gain exposure to complex, high-value sales cycles.
• Accelerate your career: Grow with the company and take on broader sales ownership as the commercial team scales.
• High impact, high upside: Directly influence pipeline, revenue growth, messaging, and go-to-market strategy.
• Fast, ambitious team: No bureaucracy, high expectations, strong execution.

If you're excited about building pipeline, opening doors with ambitious companies, and helping define how a new category of data scales, this is the role for you.
