Measurement Lead at Flywheel Energy in Gonzales, TX

Be the field expert who makes sure every barrel and every mcf we sell is measured right.

Why this role matters

Accurate measurement is how Flywheel gets paid. Custody transfer, production accounting and regulatory reporting all depend on meters, flow computers and analyzers that are installed, calibrated and running correctly. This role leads the technicians who keep it that way.

The Lead Measurement Technician oversees the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and compliance of our oil, gas and water measurement equipment. You will be the primary field expert for flow computers, analyzers, meters, proving and related instrumentation, lead and mentor field measurement technicians, and support reliable operations across production, pipeline and facility assets.

What success looks like

• First 90 days: Own the team's schedule and priorities, lead proving and calibration work, and deliver your first volume variance review.
• First year: Measurement accuracy and calibration completion are up, downtime and lost measurement are down, and the team passes its audits.

How we work: 100% Awesome Teammates

High-performing, self-directed teams made up of 100% awesome teammates: people who are very good at their jobs and who live our core behaviors every day. Every new hire should raise our ability to reach our goals, so we are ridiculously selective about who joins us.

• Do the Right Thing. Responsible development, honest feedback and doing what we said we would. In this role: Report the number the meter actually reads, document every calibration, and stop work that is not safe.
• Do it as a Team. No silos. Information moves between teams as freely as it does within one. In this role: Work hand in hand with operations, engineering, automation and accounting so measurement issues get solved, not passed along.
• Get Results. Disciplined execution and value creation. We measure ourselves by outcomes. In this role: Accurate measurement, less downtime and lost volume, clean audits, and calibrations done on time.

Is this you?

Successful Flywheelers are hungry, humble and people smart.

• Hungry: You chase down the root cause of a volume variance instead of settling for a workaround.
• Humble: You teach what you know and give your technicians the credit when the numbers are right.
• People Smart: You can explain a measurement problem to a technician, an engineer and an accountant in terms each can act on.
